GOVERNOR SOLUDO ADVOCATE FOR MORE HOMEGROWN INDUSTRIES, CALLS ON NDI IGBO TO LOOK HOMEWARD WITH THEIR INVESTMENTS

Anambra state Governor Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo reiterated Akuluouno(come home and invest) appeal to Anambra indigenes yesterday Friday June 8, 2023 at Awkuzu, Oyi Local Govt as he commissioned Milton Steel Manufacturing Industry along Enugu-Onitsha Expressway.

The Governor was full of praise for the partners that came together to incubate a steel manufacturing company, in Anambra state, one of its kind in the entire southeastern Nigeria. while eulogising the giant stride, the Governor further stated, he had earlier said that he has agreed to always commission and as well market any Made in Anambra state company and their products to the whole world. 

Governor soludo stated that he doesn’t just market them, he equally uses Made in Anambra vehicles,such as innoson autos, eat Anambra locally made foods and does everything in his capacity as the state Governor to help promote and grow indigenous investments Companies and businesses in the state.

The occasion showed that it was an intercontinental partnership that brought Milton Steel Manufacturing Industry into existence ,and with ideas from; Former Commissioner for Commerce, Hon. Sir Charles Uchenna Okafor (Wiper), Member Elect Anambra State House of Assembly, Oyi Constituency, Hon. Innocent Ojike (Ojicam), Mr Wang (a Chinese expatriate) and Mr Kelvin Chinedu, an Nnewi based businessman. The company is set to become one of its kind in the entire east,and positioned to serve entire Nigeria.

One of the key director of Milton Steel Industry and Member Elect Anambra State House of Assembly, Oyi Constituency, Hon Innocent Ojike and TC Chairman, Oyi Local Govt thanked Mr Governor respectively for his efforts in making Anambra State an investor’s destination. Hon Ojike reiterated that Milton Industry will expand and ensure they engage qualified graduates from Anambra to its service to sustain the livable, prosperous and sustainable Anambra plans of Mr Governor.

Mr Wang (the Chinese expatriate)who wowed the audience with his confidence that anambra state will become an industry hub, stated that that they source their raw materials locally by transforming metal scraps into to finished steel products. Recall that the Governor had earlier this year commissioned a waste recycling company in anambra state.

Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi, Commissioner for Industry, Mr Christian Udechukwu, Renown Industrialist, Dr Chike Obidigbo Osisioma Igbo, and other govt officials and stakeholders attended the event.

In 2022, Anambra state attracted $24.7m in foreign direct investment.
