In a recent development, the Nigerian Law School has announced a substantial increase in its tuition fees, this announcement has raised eyebrows among students and stakeholders.
The news was disclosed through an official circular that was issued by the Director-General of the Nigerian Law School, Isah Chiroma, in relation to the 2023/2024 academic session in Abuja.
The circular, which surfaced on Thursday, revealed a staggering jump of almost 200 per cent in the tuition fees, almost 100 percent increase from the previous N296,000 to the new amount of N476,000.

Notably, the timing of this tuition hike coincides with the grave economic challenges in Nigeria, which is obviously caused by the removal of the petrol subsidy under President Bola Tinubu.
The removal, announced on May 29, 2023, during Tinubu’s inaugural speech, was justified on the grounds of addressing budgetary constraints.
Although the government expressed its intention to redirect the freed-up funds towards public infrastructure and improving the overall quality of life.
